Boston Applied Technologies Incorporated
Won Three NSF Contracts

Woburn, MA, June 22, 2003 - Boston Applied Technologies Incorporated (BATI) is pleased to announce winning of three SBIR contracts from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Under these contracts BATI will focus on the development of leading edge optical/laser materials and components. Up to date, BATI has won many contracts from government agencies, including NSF, NASA, Navy, Army, and Air Force. "It was very tough in the NSF competition; only about 250 contracts were awarded in the nation, and BATI was among the companies with the highest wining rate," said Dr. Kevin Zou, Vice President and CTO of BATI. "This proved that scientists at BATI are very competitive and our technology platform is solid. We have always taken the SBIR mandate to commercialize very seriously; the extra financial resource from NSF will help us to speed up the commercialization of our products and strengthen our core business," said Dr. Zou.
